As part of our Universal Design Standards, we are committed to building energy efficient homes that help you conserve energy and spend less on utility bills. Certified Green ProfessionalChris Rochleau has earned the Certified Green Professional designation from the National Association of Home Builders. Also, our homes are Energy Star Rated by a third-party rating agency. What does Energy Star Efficiency mean for you the homeowner? Homes built to Energy Star standards have been proven over time to lower utility bills for the homeowner and to qualify for certain tax rebates depending on the location.

Air Sealing

  • All holes through floor and top plate (top of walls) are caulked or foam sealed to reduce air leakage
  • Exterior wall framing caulked to sub-floor to reduce air leakage
  • Caulking around windows, doors, joints, sill plates

Super Insulation

  • R-50 Blown in insulation in attic
  • R-19 Kraft faced batt insulation in main exterior walls
  • Garage is fully insulated, including doors, walls and ceiling
  • High R-value exterior wall insulation used throughout

High-performance Windows & Doors

  • Energy Star rated windows and doors
  • Insulated and air sealed, low-E glass
  • Insulated commercial-grade garage doors

High-Performance Framing

  • Roof framed with “energy heel” for deeper attic insulation to save more on utility bills
  • 2 x 6 Wood framed exterior walls
  • 7/16″ OSB sheathing on exterior walls
  • Exterior walls wrapped with Tyvek Building Wrap (or equal)
